West Palm Beach attics
Questions about blown-in insulation in West Palm Beach.
R-value, materials, price, and the buildings we will not pretend to insulate. If yours is not here, call.
What number do I call for blown-in insulation in West Palm Beach?
Call Cardinal Insulation at (561) 654-7698. The shop is 4263 NW 1st Ave, Boca Raton, FL 33431. Ask for a West Palm Beach attic and name the neighborhood, or the ZIP if that is all you have. El Cid, Flamingo Park, Northwood, Grandview Heights, and the ranches west of I-95 are all on this crew.
What R-value do you install in West Palm Beach?
Florida’s energy code sets a floor around R-30 for these attics. Cardinal installs blown-in insulation to R-38, above that floor. The planner on this site uses R-38 as the target. A depth mark on a truss is how you check the crew actually got there.
Fiberglass or cellulose?
Both. Fiberglass is lighter and handles a roof leak better, which matters in a humid county. Cellulose packs more R-value per inch, so a low attic sometimes needs it to hit R-38 without burying the truss ties. We pick after we see the hatch, not from a script.
How much does blown-in insulation cost in West Palm Beach?
Most attic top-ups land between $1,500 and $4,000. The number moves with attic square footage, how much fill is already there, and whether the old material has to come out. The planner scales a published Cardinal example — 1,800 sq ft with 4 inches of settled fiberglass, about $2,100 to $3,350. It is a planning range, not a bid.
How long does a blown-in attic take?
A straightforward open attic is one day. Historic houses with tight hatches, knee walls, or a full removal take longer. We tell you which one you are before we schedule the crew.
Do you air seal before you blow?
Yes. Wire penetrations, top plates, open chases, and the attic hatch get sealed before the first bag. Blowing over unsealed holes hides the leaks under the new blanket. The hatch gets weatherstripping and a foam panel on the back.
Will you cover my soffit vents?
No. We set baffles at the eaves so intake air still moves. A Florida attic that cannot vent will cook the roof deck. Blocking the soffit to “get more R-value” is the wrong trade.
Can you insulate a condo or a downtown tower?
Only if there is an attic or a framed ceiling we can reach. Most downtown West Palm towers and the buildings around Rosemary Square are concrete and have no blown-in attic. Call and we will tell you if the building is a fit.
Do I need to be home?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the hatch. The blow stays in the attic. We weatherstrip the hatch and leave depth marks you can read without crawling the whole roof.
What if the old insulation is wet or smells?
We do not blow over a wet deck or moldy fill. That comes out first, the leak gets fixed by a roofer if there is one, and then we blow. Removal is a separate line on the planning range because it is a different day’s work.
Is this spray foam?
No. This site is blown-in only — loose fiberglass or cellulose on the attic floor. Cardinal also installs spray foam on other jobs. Foaming the roof deck is a different assembly. If that is what you want, say so on the call.
